About Your Celebrant
Revd Father Malcolm McLean was born in 1951. After leaving full time education
with a Professional Qualification in Nursing and Care in the Community, he went
on to work in a Hospital in Colchester Essex for Adults with Learning Difficulties
and then worked in a private care home in Nottinghamshire with the residents for
many years, some of which he enabled to move away from the home environment
and back as integrated members of the local community in smaller groups. He
studied Nursing specialising in Mental Health initially and then General Nursing,
HIV/AIDS and Palliative Care. He worked in the Health sector for over 25 years,
alongside his Ministry. As his call to ministry increased, he left the nursing to
concentrate on ministry training undertaking several professional courses and
became a Grief Counsellor in Oxford where he studied for his Theology and
Philosophy Degree. He is ordained and licensed to officiate at Weddings,
Blessings, Naming Ceremonies and Funerals in Spain and the UK.
He has an empathy with all people and gives them an unconditional love; he is
warm and loves working with the poor, needy and underprivileged and the people
marginalized from society. He has taken many people on pilgrimages across
Europe working with charities, such as the Across Trust. He is not affiliated to any
church and therefore can offer ceremonies to all people; he has an independent
inclusive ministry. He believes his ministry should encompass all people of faith or
no faith, gay, (Gay Weddings Info) straight, black, white with no exclusions. He aims
to be open minded, tolerant, and respectful of everyone regardless of belief.
Celebrants are highly trained to prepare and conduct ceremonies to your wishes
with empathy and sensitivity. Malcolm is married, and lives with his partner, two
