Many bars have been trading for over 30 years under the same name. Most open between 9pm and 10pm closing at and services offered. Small bars tend to offer best value with loads of happy hours at different times when beers will set you back just 2€. Walking distance between venues is only one or two minutes. There are three main streets (which you can see in the free Gay Map) where most of the bars are to be found. These run parallel to each other off the main pedestrian street in the Old Town between the Poniente and Levante beach. The locals tend to eat around 10pm and hit the gay scene after midnight. With this in mind you should be aware that you will often find the bars quiet early evening. If you find a bar you like and it is quiet stay a while as it is sure to get busy later. In winter the bars get busier around 11pm with peak nights Friday to Sunday. In summer expect to be out until 8am if you do the big dance clubs on the outskirts of the resort.
