The gay village all year plus a Summer dance club paradise
The first thing you need to know is that Benidorm is open 365 days
a year and is a clubbers paradise in the summer months of June to
Sept. Peak seasons for the gay village is from September until the
second week of January and after easter until the end of June.
During July and August the scene is vibrant with mainly Spanish,
Italian and Portuguese visitors offering a very sexy scene when the
big (not gay) dance clubs are open. Room for 30,000 clubbers in
the big mixed discos which include big names such as Penelope, KU,
KM and Space in huge Ibiza style dance clubs. 2009 is the year to do
Benidorm the best value gay destination this coming Summer season.
Flight times from Europe are around two hours with over 100 flights a
day so no excuse to miss out on the big party this summer!
Hotels start from just 30€ per day in high season too.

Benidorm Gay Bars - Big choice - Low Prices - Gay Spain
In the gay village there are currently around 25 gay bars and clubs and an additional 20 gay friendly places to eat,
drink, and stay. Many bars have been trading for over 30 years under the same name. Most open between 9pm
and 10pm closing at either 2am or 5am depending on their licence. Average price for a spirit & mixer is 4€, and a
beer 2.50€ depending on the bar and services offered. Small bars tend to offer best value with loads of happy
hours at different times when beers will set you back just 2€. Walking distance between venues is only one or two
minutes. There are three main streets (which you can see in the bars section) where most of the bars are to be
found. These run parallel to each other off the main pedestrian street in the Old Town between the Poniente and
Levante beaches. In July and August the 5,000 capacity dance venues are open until 8am every night.

The Gay scene in Benidorm is made up of mainly small friendly bars with just enough variety to suit everyone. You
will find outrageously camp drag bars, men only bars. All tastes are catered for from young and trendy to Bears.
Benidorm is such a safe place we can recommend the resort as a great place for TV and TS visitors too. Although
there are currently no lesbian only bars, most of the bars are mixed gay with just three men only bars. Older gay
men are very well catered for also.

It is traditional to " do the circuit " Every venue has it´s peak time so you need to chat to the locals to get it right
otherwise you might think you are the only gay in the village.

The locals tend to eat around 10pm and hit the gay scene after midnight. With this in mind you should be aware that
you will often find the bars quiet early evening. If you find a bar you like and it is quiet stay a while as it is sure to get
busy later. In winter the bars get busier around 11pm with peak nights Friday to Sunday. In summer expect to be
out until 8am if you do the big dance clubs on the outskirts of the resort.

Getting Here - Book a coach or taxi transfer
From Alicante airport you have several choices there are 13 airport buses each day at a cost of 8€ plus resort
transfer shuttles which cost from £8 each way. Taxis will set you back around 70€ for the 50km journey. Check out
