This is the tourist center of the city and is where you will find the
largest concentration of hotel and apartment accommodation
favoured as the most popular Summer holiday destination.
This is the area frequented by foreign visitors especially the
English and Dutch. It is also known as the new town as this is
the newest part of Benidorm to have been built. See the latest

the Levante early as this area fills up quickly especially from
June to October which is peak holiday season. For a four hotel
right on the beach we highly recommend the Hotel Cimbel Also
the all Hotel Royal 5 minutes walk from the beach. For a self
catering apartment right on the beach we recommend the Petit
Palau Apartments which are very affordable.
You will find 60% of all bars, restaurants and entertainment
venues here offering a huge range of services both
independent and in hotels. Almost all businesses here cater for
English speaking visitors and many British people own bars
here. We recommend Bar Sol by the cable ski for a great
terrace bar on the beach.
The Levante is made up of a very mixed age range and caters
well for every type of holiday from stag and hen parties looking
to dance all night to those wishing for a quieter relaxed beach
break. It should be noted however that this side of town is
where the late night venues tend to be located. It is very busy
during July and August when the beach can be toe to toe with
sun seekers and bars open well after 2am with a happy and
buoyant crowd. If you are wishing to have early nights and
relax on the beach straight after breakfast then you may wish to
book a hotel or apartment in the Poniente area of the city. In
the winter months the area is favoured by many retired visitors
looking for long stay holidays.
You should note that if you are hiring a car parking is at a
premium here and can be expensive. Many hotels do have car
parks for which they charge a daily fee. The Poniente area
offers easier parking many of which are free street spaces.

The big storms caused by hot humid weather swept much of the
Levante beach away in August 2007. Freak waves came up to
the walls along the beach. You can see below the only patch of
dry sand left under the sea wall. Mind you even with the storm it
was still very hot and humid.
