MAR BLAU HOTEL BENIDORM REVIEWS

19 March 2011
The Mar Blau is the best little hotel on the whole of the Costa Blanca. 9th stay in this hotel and it just
gets better and better. So folks if you want a holiday away from mad Brits, you want great service
and excellent food then look no further.

The Mar Blau is a hotel home from home. The staff friendliness and cleanliness are second to
none. The dinning area sea view tables would compete with many 4 star hotels. A sea view room is
a must. Don't be missled there are only 3 choices of room. Sea View, Standard or Single. The
standard and single rooms are at the back of the hotel overlooking the street. Only the sea view
room will enable you to wake to the sound of the sea all day sunshine and to watch the little boats in
the small marina set off on there journeys and the many other attractions of the
Dove Park
entertainments. We have stayed here many times but it would benefit from a refurbishment. The
small seafront bars within the area are very friendly and good value. We are now looking to book our
next stay in this hotel. Very Good Value for money

THE INITIAL ROOM WAS NOT GOOD AND NO SEA VIEW (ALPHA ROOMS SHOULD MAKE IT
CLEAR THAT THERE IS EXTRA CHARGE FOR THIS). AFTER 24 HOURS WE WERE GIVEN THE
CHOICE OF THREE ALTERNATIVE ROOMS. iN SO MANY WAYS WE WERE MADE SO WELCOME
BY THE MANAGEMENT AND STAFF. ROOM CLEANING WAS BEYOND REPROACH. I HAVE
STAYED HERE BEFORE , IT IS GOOD TO BE SO NEAR THE SHOPS ,BEACH AND THE OLD
TOWN. FOOD WAS EXCELLENT AND A GOOD CHOICE OF MENU WAS AVAILABLE WITH EVERY
MEAL. TABLE SERVICE WAS GOOD WITH ACCOMMODATING AND HELPFUL WAITERS.

Very good position. A small friendly hotel, mostly spanish guests, very good clean restaurant. As
there is not any entertainment the hotel is very quiet.  Best Thing - The position of the Hotel with its
lovely sea view.

This is a place where you get what you pay for remember its only 2* so its plain and simple.
However once you get to know the staff they are very very good and the place has a family feel to it. It
is in one of the best locations in
Old Town Benidorm with great sea views which you MUST book
and PAY for in advance as you wont get one by simply putting it down as a 'special request' as
some do hoping for the best then arguing with reception thats what they paid for....? Yes it happens
a lot. We have stayed there many times for up to 4 weeks at a time the food can be 'same old same
old' but with lots of great places in town to eat that is never a problem for us. Have a great time but
remember you havent paid to stay in the Ritz!!!!

This was our second visit to this hotel in the last 12months.We love the location & a sea view room
is an absolute must for the most fantastic views. We stayed on a full board arrangement & had
plenty to eat at every meal time, although there wasn't a vast variety, there was always something to
tempt our taste buds. The rooms are kept lovely & clean & February being colder this year than
usual, heating was always available for our extra comfort.Staff very friendly & courteous. A visit to
Jarrow Lad, a cosy little bar/cafe only a few metres from the hotel entrance is a must too, Jackie &
Derick provide a very warm wecome & serve the best beer around there!

We had a 5 night winter break at the Mar Blau from 8 February 2010 and really enjoyed it. All hotel
staff were very nice and the food was excellent. Bedroom on the small side but very clean and maid
serviced every day. After reading reviews on Trip Advisor we paid the extra small charge for a sea
view room and it was well worth it. Only area of concern was that the room had a connecting door
(locked) and for the first 2 nights we had a loud english couple in the adjoining room who made no
effort to keep the noise down. We asked Reception if we could be moved and they were happy to
help, fortunately though the noisy couple left and we were able to enjoy the rest of our stay in peace.
On our first night we went a walk and stopped for a drink in the Guiness Bar on the sea front - we
were charged 9.60 euro for 2 diet cokes and 1 vodka - needless to say would never go back to that
bar again!! Met some very nice other english couples in the hotel who had been staying for 5 weeks
and were great at pointing out the best places to go to. Location of hotel was excellent as we
wanted to be near the old town. Will go back to this hotel if back in Benidorm.

We stay at this hotel xmas2008/newyear2009.when we arrived at hotel the welcome was out of this
world better than if you were staying at 4/5star.we were shown to our room and it was on the 8th
floor when out on the balconey we could not believe our eyes you could see beach sea from one
side the other the mountains large enough to hold a partyeverthing about this hotel is great
cleanliness staff food especially the 2 gala dinners we had. there are various bars around wheather
just outside or a short walk away you will always find plenty to do. Try the jarrow lad next door the
owners derick &jackie also sarah make you very welcome also the coach&horses make you very
welcome both do a big english breakfast if you missed breakfast in hotel like we did not only once
we might had as we were there xmas newyear and the spainish xmas great 14 days we hope to go
back sometime the people we meet at the hotel were very pleased with there stay in fact some had
been before others said they will be back just like us.Nothing more to add just brilliant etc etc

We arrived home yesterday from what can only be described as a brilliant holiday. Hotel position
couldn't be better, right opposite a gorgeous beach & the blue med! We had booked a sea view
room & would really advise all to do so,, as the views around are to die for, rooms at the back of the
hotel are from what we heard ' a little dismal'. Mealtimes are quite something to look forward too as
well, not an awful lot of variety but always something to savor never the less. Entertainment wasn't
really an issue with us as we only had a quiet drink in the bar & retired to bed at around !!pm,
enabling us to have final glimpses from the balcony of such a lovely part of Spain. Thankyou AR for
such good service, ( transfers also provided ). Looking forward to booking with you again, VERY,
VERY, SOON.

Tried the full board option for very little extra cost. We found the meals a treat with lots of variety and
good quality food. Buffet service meant you could eat exactly what you wanted. Hotel very clean, staff
very friendly and helpful. You can't improve on the hotel's location, and if you pay the extra for
sea-view. you will not be disappointed. The
beach is just across the road and all shops in the
old town are just a few hundred yards stroll away. We felt it was one of the best locations to stay in
Benidorm. Very enjoyable stay.

Mar Blau Benidorm Old Town
Popular quality 2* beach hotel
Opposite the park and harbour
Excellent staff good service
ALWAYS GOOD REVIEWS
From £19 Half Board Low Season
Mar Blau Hotel - overlooking the beach and harbour!
This hotel is regarded as one of the best budget 2* hotels in Benidorm.  Located
opposite park Elx in the old town and just a hop to the
Poniente beach.  Popular with
many regulars who enjoy this mid-range hotel where you will enjoy a Spanish flavour.

Ideal for couples and singles looking for a central hotel away from the club and bar
area of the resort yet only a few minutes to the
old town shops.  We recommend that
you book a sea view room here as the Hotel overlooks the beach and harbour.
Well trained and attentive staff are mentioned in many reviews by guests

HOT TIP Booking a sea view room - If it does not state "Sea View" when you select
your room this means they have sold out.  Requesting a sea view when booking will
not give you a sea view room unless you actually book one that states "sea view".
Many guests arrive and say they requested a sea view, however, unless you pay the
little extra at the time of booking you will not be allocated a sea view room. A sea view
here is a must, so do take our advice and make sure you book one if available.
