| Welcome to Café Bar El Papagayo in the heart of the gay village in old Town Benidorm. Bar El Papagayo is a small, cosy straight friendly gay bar with a colonial atmosphere. We are a very social bar and have become one of the most popular meeting places in the village. We have earned our popularity form the great mix of music (never too loud) and friendly welcome found in the bar. Here you can have a chat, meet friends and make new ones. Many a romance has begun at el Papagayo. We are a truly international gay bar; all nationalities are welcome especially as we speak Dutch, English, German, French and Spanish. Yuri and Mario originally from Holland opened the bar in 2003 and have earned their place in the night scene circuit by offering a unique bar with a unique atmosphere. The bar is always well stocked with a large selection of brand names and quality wines. They also sell what is probably the coldest draught beer in town and at prices that are sensible. Of course the collection of parrots is growing fast as it is now the done thing for regular customers to take parrots as gifts to add to the collection - so if you see a nice parrot on your travels remember Yuri and Mario and pop a parrot in your pocket for them.
